Fire theatre

Flamma's specialty is combining fire arts with theater. In these fire stories different fantasy characters bring the audience into a fiery world through motion, music and the light of the flames. In additition to the performers the productions also employ a big crowd of set builders, dressmakers, light and sound engineers, fire safety people etc. The fire theaters have found a regular home at the Pyynikki summer theater where they are held annually in the early fall.

Flamma has staged fire theater performances annually in Tampere since 2003. In 2006 during Tapahtumien Yö over 4000 people came to see The Story of the Fools in Näsinpuisto. In 2007 The Dream of the Fools drew 2500 people to Pyynikki, and in 2008 over 2700 people saw the remastered version. These two shows were given the Cultural Event of the Year 2008-award by the city of Tampere.
